Amendments To Rules

PASSED AT THE FEBRUARY 2007 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.

That all clubs adopt a Code of Practice regarding children within clubs. All clubs will receive guidelines on this matter.

That the fee for an appeal to a Region be £25stg. or €40. Loser of the appeal is liable for the fee.

That the fee for an appeal to the Supreme Council be £50stg. or €80. Loser of the appeal is liable for the fee.

Amendment to Rule 78: change "Clearance Sale" to "Entire Clearance Sale". Also include with Rule 78: "Only two types of Sales are permitted, 'Entire Clearance Sale' or 'Sale of Pigeons'. Any other description of Sale will be deemed as an 'Entire Clearance Sale' and the member will be debarred for three years from competing in any race or show, reckoned from the date such Sale is advertised or published. Debarred members wishing to rejoin can obtain rings in the third year but must complete the three year debarment. Club Secretaries must notify their Region Secretary in writing of any member that is having an "Entire Clearance Sale"

The details of recognised rings only can be entered on any sheet relating to racing or showing or any other administrative items.

That in the case of partnerships, disputes involving the partners will be judges on their merits. The first named partner will be deemed as the senior partner and be responsible for the said partnership.

That with regard to T3 Clocks, the clock number must correspond with the number on the print-out. All details of the print-out must be checked and the print-out signed by the Clock Official. During the 3-Way Test, if it is found that a T3 clock has a different number on the outer case from the number on the print-out, both these numbers must be recorded in the Club Clock Book. Only clocks recorded will be permitted for use.

That any member who opens his/her own clock will be suspended for three weeks.

That the Irish Homing Union join the Federation Colombophile Internationale.

OTHER CHANGES ADOPTED SINCE THE INTRODUCTION OF THE 1998 RULE BOOK

1998: Registration of foreign rings. It was agreed that foreign rings (outside UK & Ireland) would be registered with both Region Secretaries. This would be acceptable for ownership.

1999: That the phone numbers of club secretaries be included on the ring lists.
That name & address rings be permitted for use.

2000: That all parties concerned with an appeal, when receivibg notice of the said appeal would also receive a declaration sheet to sign declaring that they will accept the decision of the Supreme Council as final and binding. This sheet must be returned to the Secretary within seven days of receipt of the notice of appeal. If the declaration is not forthcoming, the appeal will not be heard.

2001: That all members of affiliated societies, and all societies of affiliated federations and combines must be members of the Irish Homing Pigeon Union.
That all ring particulars must be entered on race sheets and any other sheet relating to any race.

2003: That the abbreviation of the year be accepted (Year can be in abbreviated or full format).

2004: That one race rubber only may be put into any thimble/shuttle. Where a thimble/shuttle contains more than one race rubber, all race rubbers in that thimble/shuttle will be disqualified.

2005: That any affiliated members name(s) must be that of the said individual(s). No loft or stud shall be accepted for membership.

2006: That all affiliated members of the Union must adhere to any directive or guidelines issued by airport/Aviation Authorities.
That no affiliated Federation, Combine, Society or Club will be permitted to stage liberations within 50km of the East Coast of Ireland.

RULE CHANGES INTRODUCED FEBRUARY, 2009

That rubber rings can be inserted in all conventional timing clocks without a thimble provided the clocks have been fitted with a flap recommended by the manufacturer.

That the rule whereby only one race rubber may be put in a thimble, and where a thimble contains more than one race rubber all corresponding pigeons in that thimble are disqualified be deleted.

That in the case of deceased members within partnerships, the remaining member must assume the position of senior partner. If there are more than two members in the partnership, the remaining partners must nominate a member as the senior partner. No membership fee to be accepted for deceased members.
